COURSE AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
This training course is designed for individuals who are new to computing and the web.It gives complete beginners the knowledge and confidence to start using the Windows interface effectively, search the internet and set up a web based e-mail accountTo introduce the basic architecture and functions of MS-Dos & operating systems. By looking at the overall architecture and individual components of different types of operating systems, major design issues, algorithms and design trade-off are discussed.
By the end of the this course, Student will be able to:
Start and shut down their PC
Use the mouse and keyboard
Use the Windows environment to open and work in different applications. Save and manage files
Search the internet effectively
Set up a web based email account and send and receive mail
· Upon completion, students should be able to:
· identify the functions and facilities of operating systems;
· select an operating system for a specified application and system configuration;
· evaluate performance of various algorithms used in various components of operating systems;
· Perform basic system administration and programming.
MS-DOS
Learning of how to use the MS-DOS filing system to organize the information (files) stored on your computer. This includes the proper use of directories to group related files together, and to separate non-related files. Properly organizing the files on your system is necessary if you want to efficiently use your computer.
